Womens Report:
Hilary 2017 has been very successful for the women's side of the boat club. The girls who joined as novices in Michaelmas kept up those commitment, becoming seniors. We also were able to recruit a whole boat full of new novices, whilst simultaneously being able to select a W1, 2 and 3 from the seniors.. Training at Godstow became even more beneficial due to our launch share scheme with St Peter's, and it potentiated a successful run-up to Torpids. Due to availability conflicts, we were not able to field a W3 for Torpids itself, but all the girls still had the opportunity to experience bumps racing by rowing as subs for W2. It was the most successful Torpids campaign in 10 years, with both boats of women remaining unbumped, achieving 3 bumps and a rowover each after almost closing in on overbumps on the final day. It has been a tremendous term with brilliant commitment from all the girls, and we certainly ended on a high after the huge success of our Torpids campaign and notably of the achievements of our strong W2. This gives us a lot of excitement for Summer VIIIs where we hope replicate and further this term's accomplishments.

Mens Report
This term has been one of the most successful for the men’s side of the boat club in recent memory. We managed to get both M1 and M2 racing time, with both crews having very positive performances in IWLs. Sadly when it came to Torpids M2 didn’t qualify, but only because they were very unlucky on the day. Crews who M2 beat at IWL E managed to qualify. Frustrating as it was, this bodes very well for Summer 8s where our M2 will be pushing for fixed divisions. M1 had an excellent campaign, stopping their run of 21 days without bumping and holding our position on the river. We ended up getting bumped twice and bumping twice, which considering the speed of some of the boats around us was very impressive. This great Hilary term has really given us a perfect platform that we can use to start building for Summer 8s. Furthermore with 2 8s worth of committed guys I see no reason why we can’t follow up our best Torpids performance in recent memory, with a similarly impressive Summer 8s.
