By Tiber Karadag (Mens' Novice Captain)
Mens' and Womens' Novice A boats raced in Nephthys Regatta, a first in SABC history. This was the perfect opportunity for our novices to get some racing experience before Christ Church Regatta.
Our Women sadly got knocked out during the first race, due to an unfortunate start with a seat coming off. However, the girls managed to refocus themselves and forced Wolfson to keep at Race pace the whole way down Boathouse Island.
Our Men won their first race against New College with a very well timed power 10 at the end of the course.
The Men also lost against Wolfson college, during the second knockout round due to what was a shaky start. Despite starting behind Wolfson the boys heroically kept pushing, and managed to gain on them. But sadly the course just was not long enough.
Overall the novices were very happy with the rowing they showed on the water, and everyone is now very excited for Christ Church Regatta! As St Anne's Boat Club we are now all geared towards what looks to be a very promising Christ Church.
Bring on Christ Church Regatta!
